Client: Pennsylvania Institute of Technology
Context: The Pennsylvania Institute of Technology is a college that hires instructors with real world experience, but may not have an education background. One of the institute's current goals is to increase student engagement and utilize active learning within their virtual, hybrid, and in-person courses.
Challenges: Some of the instructors do not have an education background and have a limited experience with writing curricular content appropriately.
Solutions: The college reinstated their professional development workshop with a focus on proper technique for writing different curricular content and sharing techniques to increase active learning in the classroom.
Results: I developed this slide deck and trained the instructors on how to write learning goals, objectives, and outcomes that contain the appropriate parts. I implemented activities and opportunities for learner interaction to reinforce the information.
